Annette Summers

Annette Summers
President

Annette Summers knew at a very young age that she wanted to own her own firm. Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, she always had a vision of owning a firm that would be a rewarding, fun and an exciting place to work. She wanted to create a place where employees were consistently recognized, had a sense of belonging, and enjoyed coming to work each day. Her vision was to create an environment where employees grow and develop and where relationships with clients are rewarding. The dynamic and supportive team environment found at GA is what she always envisioned. She recognizes Michael Giuffrida, the founder of Giuffrida Associates for the foundation he set for the success of GA. She credits him for his ongoing mentorship and wisdom that has been a large part in shaping her professional life today.

Annette’s vision for teamwork can be found throughout the entire corporate culture. The sense of passion and enthusiasm for exceeding client expectations stems from the internal drive threaded throughout the cultural signposts. Because the GA Team members are truly a part of the company, they take pride in the work they deliver. We are often asked, “How did you make this event look so seamless and turn out so perfect – yet again?” It was easy. Because everyone knows that highly effective teams, operating at their fullest capacity, by their own choice - will always achieve. The best part? We love what we do and we have fun doing it. And that shows in the work that we do.

For 15 years, Annette was a member of the leadership team for Maryland Leadership Workshops, a program that focuses on communication skills, diversity awareness, and leadership training for young adults. She was responsible for program design as well as training and evaluating a staff of 40, which delivers an annual summer program to over 300 young leaders.

In addition to serving as President of GA, Annette is instrumental for key organizations within GA. She manages GA’s Strategic Planning/Facilitation service line and enjoys routinely checking in with all clients and their goals. Annette serves on the Advisory Board for Axela, a Government Relations and Lobbying Firm. In 2005, she was selected as one of the top 100 women for Leadership America.

Annette has a degree in human resources and communications from James Madison University.

Sheila Crowley

Sheila Crowley, CMP
Account Executive

When we celebrated Sheila’s 20 years with the company, she was surprised at how fast the time had flown. Sheila Crowley joined GA knowing that her key strengths were a perfect match for the company’s services. Today, twenty years later, Sheila continues to be a pinnacle part of GA’s success.

Sheila approaches every client, event and project with flexibility and ease. It is this flexibility and calming nature of Sheila’s that has made her so popular among her clients. This cool-mannered approach follows Sheila in even the tightest of deadlines or toughest of events, keeping the atmosphere calm wherever she goes.

Sheila Crowley

Sheila received her Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) 10 years ago and pulls on the strength of this certification to guide her clients for all of their event and meeting planning needs. In addition, she has 15 years of association management experience where she has served as the Executive Director for multiple clients for over 10 years. In her capacity as Executive Director, Sheila prides herself on her ability to listen to a client’s needs and work with the team to provide an innovative solution.

Sheila’s expertise in association management and events, coupled with her team spirit, have been the foundation of her success at GA for the last 20 years.

Sheila has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and English from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, SI Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Anne Connor

Anne Connor
Director of Public Affairs

Anne Connor is a public affairs professional with 15 years’ experience working with non-profit organizations, the aerospace industry and the federal government.

Ms. Connor’s experience comes from her roles as a policy and government affairs professional for the Aerospace Industries Association and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. These positions required a keen understanding of the legislative process and political dynamics that impact the aerospace, defense and high technology industries as well as the ability to negotiate disparate interests and create collaborative environments. This experience with non-profit trade and professional associations, including volunteer committees and Boards of Directors has honed her ability to quickly identify areas for improvement within these organizations and devise strategic internal and external engagement plans to increase organizational effectiveness.

Anne also worked as a professional staff member for the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology and spent time working for then-Representative C.L. “Butch” Otter, now Govern r of Idaho, providing her with an insider’s knowledge of the Hill.

There is a saying: “It’s all about who you know.” Ms. Connor truly believes that it’s not just about whom you know but who knows you. Anne takes a measured and careful approach towards developing relationships that last well into the future and brings this approach to the GA Team.

Ms. Connor received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with minors in Economics and German, at the University of Idaho and a Masters of Arts in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.

Zachary Ford

Zachary Ford
Project Manager

When Zachary first arrived to GA, it was clear he was motivated to make a difference and have an impact. He did exactly this as he quickly learned about each of our clients and the ways his experience and expertise would benefit them.

Zachary’s dedication and work ethic stem from his background in nonprofit and a rigorous college course load. He learned project management early on and this skill has allowed him to have great success in association management and at GA.

As the youngest member of the GA Team, Zachary brings a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to the office. Zachary has a passion for writing and marketing, recognizing the importance of getting your word out to your target audience. He listens carefully to the messaging and then crafts the perfect language to bring it all together.

Zachary’s flexible personality and dedication to perfection make him a tremendous asset to the GA Team.

Zachary has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.

Jo-Anne Williams

Jo-Anne Williams, CPA, MBA
Accountant

With over fifteen years of accounting experience, including a masters degree in accounting and being a Certified Public Accountant, Jo-Anne Williams is an incredible asset to the GA Team. Her background in finance, consulting, and accounting brings a fantastic level of expertise and experience to our team and has been a perfect match for the company’s services.

In addition, Jo-Anne’s core knowledge of non-profit and association management, paired with her accounting skills allow her to provide an even higher level of expertise to our association management clients.  Her flexibility and exceptional accounting skills suit the office environment perfectly.

One of the greatest skills Jo-Anne brings to the GA Team is her financial management and analysis.  She excels in financial reporting, implementation of accounting policies and procedures, managing cash flow, audits and recommending business improvements.

Jo-Anne graduated from the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Accounting. Soon after, she completed a Master of Science in Accounting, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, Maryland.

Rosanna Tavarez

Rosanna Tavarez
Office Support Manager

Rosanna Tavarez is an extremely driven individual with a passion for customer service. She has worked in a wide array of business environments where she was, and continues to be, commended on the superior attention she provides to clients.

Rosanna was the personal assistant to Ambassador John W. McDonald (ret.) at the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy. During her time there, she assisted with several project design workshops and worked as the Ambassador’s point of contact for all of his scheduling needs. As the Climate Change Program Manager, she worked hand-in-hand with the graphic design team to create a new vision for the Institute’s Climate Change Program including the creation of a new logo, website and mission.

Ms. Tavarez served as a Programming Intern in the office of the Honorable Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL). Rosanna managed constituent services that entailed planning, organizing and conducting tour requests for members of the district. She coordinated itineraries for groups ranging from two to almost one hundred people in their visits to the nation’s capital. Aside from constituent services, Rosanna assisted the Legislative Directors with research tasks, briefings and worked with the Press Secretary by providing daily reports for both the local and district office. Rosanna’s most exceptional expedience during her internship was being able to work directly with the Chief of Staff providing full office support during the government shutdown.

From the moment she became part of the GA team, Rosanna has worked endlessly to ensure all of our clients are undoubtedly satisfied with our performance and services. She continues to grow in our company and is looking forward to helping our clients achieve their business ambitions.

Ms. Tavarez received her Bachelor of the Arts degree from New College of Florida in Sarasota, Florida with a double major in Political Science and International & Area Studies and a minor in Spanish Language and Culture.

GA has a depth of experienced staff responsible for the day to day operations and/or specializing in specific areas of our business. Working closely with our President and Account Executives, this core group provide significant support to ensure our client’s expectations are always exceeded.

Mindy Trzcinski

The GA Team is dedicated to providing superior services to every one of our clients, and Mindy Trzcinski helps us achieve that with her expertise in GA’s strategic planning and event planning needs. A former employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Evidence Control Unit, Mindy served as an Evidence Request Coordinator, managing cases that came into the laboratory and assisting law enforcement with their needs related to the case. She was the Cold Case Request coordinator, so in addition to high priority cases she worked closely with law enforcement to reexamine cases and assist in offering the FBI’s latest technology to older cases. Mindy’s ability to succeed under pressure and her high attention to detail make her a critical part of the GA Team.

Mindy has exceptional facilitation skills and is excellent at working with our clients to plan events. Her background in teaching courses on motivating volunteers, strategic planning, keeping groups focused and achieving goals have given her the tools to succeed at GA and an impeccable reputation with our clients.

When GA facilitates a significantly large event, Mindy is always the key to our success. Her enthusiasm and dedication to our clients make her an invaluable resource. She is always ready and willing to manage volunteers and contract staff and does it flawlessly.

Mindy was a member of the Maryland Leadership Workshop team for ten years, where she facilitated leadership development programs for high school students. Some of the discussions she facilitated were diversity training, conflict management, project planning, and self-awareness. Three of the ten years, Mindy served as the Director of the Maryland Leadership Workshops Senior High Workshops. She was responsible for the hiring and training of a staff of thirty, and oversaw the planning and execution of a one week overnight program for 250 high school students.

Rachel Marsteller

After every event with which Rachel Marsteller is involved our clients always make a point to let us know that her high level of customer service sets her apart from her peers. Her area of expertise is event planning support. Whether it is registration assistance, ushering individuals to their meeting room space, or helping speakers get prepared for their session, Rachel is always prepared and working hard with a smile on her face.

We have been told by multiple clients that Rachel has the ability to make anyone feel comfortable. Her warm and welcoming ways are calming and reassuring. Yet, her decisive and organized manner allows her to take control of any situation to keep systems running smoothly and efficiently. In her spare time, Rachel works as a 911 call taker and volunteers as an EMT, which further exemplifies her desire to help others feel at ease.

Rachel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Business Administration from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA.

Web Developer

The GA Team is proud to offer a full range of services to all of our clients, including the development of online content and web design. As with all of our work, we maintain the highest level of professionalism with our website development and take great pride in bringing our clients the best.

The GA web developer is an expert in developing significant e-commerce systems with a specialization in designing automated features that decrease administrative time spent on registration and financial management. They are also able to create specialized web programming options to cater to all event needs.

Editor

Newsletters, press releases, bulletins, website updates and announcements are all weekly occurrences at the GA office. Our clients have come to expect the best from us and we continue to deliver on that promise.

When we release any written statement from a client, our editor takes a thorough and engaged look before allowing it to be released. At GA, we know that we are representing the client and we take great pride in representing them well.

Conference Management

A significant portion of our time at GA is spent planning and organizing conferences. The GA Team provides first-class conference management to our clients. Year after year, we are consistently told by our clients that the conferences keep getting better and better.

The GA Team handles everything with the knowledge and skill one would expect from an expert in the field. From negotiating and overseeing contracts to printing certificates and name-tags, we have it covered.

Marketing Management

The GA Team embraces technology and always tries to be ahead of the most recent trend. We offer complete marketing management to our clients. The GA Team has dedicated members that work with the client to design websites, brochures, graphics, signage, and emails that will put them far ahead of their peers.
